Munich trainers

I only discovered Munich trainers when I moved to Barcelona. They were and they still are the cool trainers that everybody wants. Obviously I bought my own pair. This was 8 years ago, and they look as good as new.

Munich has been around since 1939. They used to specialise in indoor football, but in 2000 they launched a street wear collection that rocketed the sales and put them in the spotlight. They also launched their iconic ‘X’ across the side that is so distinctive.

Here in London, I am always amused to see someone wearing them. So far there are shops only in Spain, so it is unusual to find them in another country. To me, there is still something unique about the fact that they are a Spanish brand with no presence anywhere else. Although you can buy them online, of course.

The physical shops have been featured in countless design magazines, and they are worth a visit. Each shop has been designed independently, which makes the shopping experience so unique:

And my likely purchase has to be these Munich Goal:

They used to have an online bespoke service that allowed you to choose each individual colour.

And here is a pic of my old Munich having a rest in London.

For more information check the website and Facebook. I wouldn’t be surprised if they became the must-have in the UK. After all New Balance is not a new product and we all have a pair already.
