As you already know, Scandinavian design is one of the most distinctive and practical. I recently visited Copenhagen for the first time and I really hope it is not the last one.
Hotel Fox is everything but what you would call Scandinavian design. Each of the 61 rooms is different, designed by various artists this hotel is one of a kind.
I chose room 302 by Friendswithyou. This is one of the most famous rooms in the hotel, completely covered in tiles like a luxurious wet room. But the most striking piece in this room is the golden bull’s head. Surprisingly there is a small butcher in the centre of Copenhagen that has exactly the same golden bull’s head hanging from its sign. I wonder if there is any relation between both.
I had the purpose of finding a quirky hotel, something different and I definitely think this was it. The staff is terribly helpful and friendly, like most Danish people I met. Every day from 5 to 6 there is free wine in the lobby, plus free coffee to take away.
Here is a small sample of the many rooms from their website:
There is an option of staying in a different room every day during your stay, not really for me but not a bad idea at all.
