Salvadó Mallol – Artisan Jeweller

This in another unique shop you can find in Barcelona. Bespoke jewellery.

Walking along Carrer Verdi in Gracia neighborhood (one of my favourite and former place of residency for The Hunter) you can find this small shop. It has a very narrow window display that makes you want to get in and find out more. Just ring the bell and Salvadó will open his showroom for you.

Here are some pieces; pictures from his website:

Necklace Trau (steel)
Loop earrings (steel)
Llaç earrings (steel)
Necklace tube with pressure piece (elastomer)
Simetria earrings
Ramet ring

Salvadó’s grandfather was a jewels valuer and he developed an interest for gemstones when he was a kid. In his showroom he can design whatever you have in mind. But you can also buy straight from the pieces he has on show. Also some jewels from other brands like Niessing, a German company that makes very interesting rings.

He tags himself as a metal smith. He creates very powerful pieces using diverse materials like silver and gold, but sometimes also steel and nylon.

In this video Salvadó explains how one of his necklaces can be worn in different ways (He speaks Catalan with Spanish subtitles):

Watch some craftsmanship in this other one:

I would like to thank Salvadó for his time and kindness showing me around. I assure you that you will not be disappointed if you visit his showroom in Barcelona.
