Hotel Missoni – Edinburgh

Last week I stayed in the most fashionable hotel in Edinburgh. Ever since it opened in 2009, Hotel Missoni has become a place to see and to be seen. The location couldn’t be better, overlooking the Royal Mile.

From the moment you walk into the lobby, design is everywhere. Good quality materials and shocking pieces, quirky chairs and of course Missoni prints.

One of the coolest things is the reception desk, in fact 3 little and separated ones that give you privacy and a more approchable feeling.

The rooms are spacious and decorated in a colourful minimalism. They include a courtesy minibar and films on demand, tea and coffee. If you like high tech, the TV and rest of electronics are all Bang & Olufsen.

The bar is very stylish and perfect for those pre or after dinner G&Ts. There is a screen showing constant Missoni catwalk and the staff are dressed by the emblematic Italian brand.

I didn’t dine at the restaurant but The Witchery instead, a completely different atmosphere by Edinburgh Castle. This restaurant is a gothic paradise where you can have candlelit dinner and exquisite food and service. Highly recommended if you ever visit Edinburgh and want to treat yourself.

OMG, this hotel oozes style! I need to think of an excuse to get to Edinburgh now!

    1. It does, highly recommended. Any excuse could work, you might like it during the festival in August (everything more expensive though)

For someone who lives in the sticks of North Carolina, what festival might that be?
