Here is a small sample of one of the fantastic exhibitions you can see in London these days. My friend Adolfo recommended it to me and it is so worth it that I wanted to share it with you.
The exhibition will be open until 27 January 2013 and the admission is free.
“Tim Walker is one of the most visually exciting and influential fashion photographers working today. Extravagant in scale and ambition and instantly recognisable for their eye-opening originality, Walker’s photographs dazzle with life, colour and humour. His recent work is drawn from the pages of the world’s leading magazines: British, French, American and Italian Vogue, Vanity Fair, W and The New Yorker among many others.” (Somerset House website)
Each picture is like a little story beyond fashion. To me, some of them are like renaissance paintings with small elements that could tell you more about the story captured in the picture.
Alongside the pictures the visitor can see some of the props used to recreate the scenes, such as the giant doll, insects or a massive skeleton.
So if you feel encouraged to visit the exhibit I also recommend sniffing around the gift shop; there are very interesting books.
